Henry
was one of our Welsh corgis. He was diagnosed with a malignant
nasal tumor in mid-July of this year. Despite the fact we
were willing to commit to radiation, it turned out the type
of cancer he had would not have responded to treatment. We
thought we would have 3 to 6 months with him. That estimate
turned into a little more than three weeks.
Henry was a wonderful dog. He
spent a lot of time with Joe at Narrow Land Pottery in Wellfleet.
Many people met him, enjoyed him, gave him well-deserved attention,
and today, ask for him by name when they come into the shop.
He had a wonderful disposition and is sadly missed by Marianne,
Joe and the other corgis in the family: his half-sister Gracie
who is twelve, and Homer who is three.
He had a good life. We were lucky
to have had him as a part of ours. We just wish it had been
for longer.
Special thanks to Dru Crowell
of Hytide Corgis for her continued support over the life of
her dogs, and Dr. John Kelley at Lower Cape Veterinary Services
for his dedication, care, and compassion.
